He is also a Founding Partner of SCALE <\/span>| CRE<\/span><\/strong>, a Co-General Partner in Class A and B multifamily assets in South Dakota and Utah totaling 321 units. Mr. Brewer holds a Certificate in Energy Innovation from Stanford, a Master\u2019s degree from Georgetown, and a Bachelor\u2019s from The Citadel.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Prior to his experience in commercial real estate, he proudly served more than 21 years in the United States Marine Corps, commanding units of 100+ Marines, and deploying in combat and across the globe. He currently holds the rank of Major and serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff\u00a0 for Communications at Headquarters Marine Corps Reserves in New Orleans, Louisiana.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n James has an enormous passion for mentoring and educating others, and is focused on giving back to our Veterans through the forming of SCALE <\/span>| CRE FOUNDATION<\/span><\/strong>, a Veteran and commercial real estate focused non-profit set to launch mid-2024. In his civilian capacity, James co-founded the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program (a DoD SkillBridge Program) for his large software company in 2019. Their mission was to assist Active Service Members in their transition from Active Duty to the Civilian corporate world with a focus on opportunities within the software industry. Most recently, he served as the Managing Director of San Diego’s Property Management Division responsible for 12 Million Square Feet of Commercial Assets. Prior to that Juan was Director of CBRE’s Los Angeles\/Inland Empire Regions managing a portfolio of 9 Million Square Feet Class A\/B Office and Industrial assets. On behalf of their mutual clients, Mr. Rose led portfolio operations to exceed revenue targets, minimize operating expenses, all while elevating the tenant experience at each property managed. Proudly, while being of service to the City of Los Angeles in 2015, Mr. Rose led operations over the $100 million Emergency Response and Restoration project, in which the City of Los Angeles, recognized Mr. Rose\u2019s team as the \u201cGlobal Outstanding Property Management Team of the Year\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Juan also currently serves as a Financial Management Officer and Civil Affairs Officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, previously overseeing Emergency Operations for Marine Corps Installations in the western United States. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his military tenure, Mr. Rose established himself as a subject matter expert in defense financial management.
